Corey Piché was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1998, after graduating from the University of Victoria Law School and clerking at the British Columbia Supreme Court. Corey then practiced at a full-service downtown Vancouver law firm, focusing on business law, particularly in areas relating to financing, business purchases and sales, and reorganizations. Corey moved his practice to an information technology law boutique firm where he continued to advise on business law issues but in particular those affecting companies and individuals in the high-technology sector, including technology development and licensing arrangements and intellectual property development and protection.
Corey's current practice continues to be primarily concerned with business law, and in particular corporate and commercial (including licensing) law. He advises on company formation and structuring, business acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations, as well as on day-to-day operational legal matters, including in relation to employment law issues, commercial leases, and contracts for the provision of all forms of products and services. Negotiation of business purchases and sales, and documentation of complex tax-driven corporate reorganizations and succession plans make up a large part of his current practice.
